PT nesses espelhos, que são o espírito dos homens, nesses charcos de água intranquila, onde as nuvens para sempre se revolvem e as sombras se formam, os sonhos persistiam, impossível se tornando resistir à estranha insinuação que cada gaivota, cada flor, cada árvore, cada homem ou mulher, e a própria terra branca, pareciam fazer (mas que, se interrogados, logo retirariam), de que o bem triunfa, a felicidade perdura, a ordem domina; ou resistir ao extraordinário estímulo para alinhar aqui e além, em busca de um bem absoluto, um cristal de intensidade, distante dos prazeres conhecidos e das virtudes familiares, algo de alheio aos processos da vida doméstica, simples, duro, claro, como um diamante na areia, que a segurança trouxesse ao seu possuidor.
